Tony the Maker

Tony Wise works loosely with materials, ripping clay slabs and owning the connections of how his work is put together. He uses this approach to create marks ingrained with confidence and freshness. Wise is creating a visual language exploring perspectives of time and growth. He currently works as the Co-Director of the Wheelhouse Studios at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he has the opportunity to pursue his passion for community based art programs and work with UW students. He has been awarded residencies in Colorado, Australia, and California. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally.
